15 Hospitals Expanding Orthopedic Services

Here are 15 hospitals expanding their orthopedic services.
1. Andover Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Group in Newton, N.J., joined Lake Region Urgent Care in Hawley, Pa., to provide orthopedic services.

2. The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati has begun construction on a $265 million project that includes a 332,000-square-foot orthopedic and spine center.

3. Highland Hospital in Rochester, N.Y., is expanding its Evarts Joint Center to meet an increase in patient volume.

4. Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Tennessee opened its renovated orthopedic center, which was expanded to 19,000-square feet and 24 patient rooms.

5. Loyola University Medical Center and Gottlieb Memorial Hospital in Maywood, Ill., opened a new urgent care center that will offer orthopedics, pediatrics and sports medicine.

6. McShane Healthcare Solutions partnered with physicians in Houston to create the Methodist Center for Sports Medicine.

7. Mon General Hospital in Morgantown, W. Va., recently opened its new orthopedic center, which includes more patient rooms.

8. McDonough Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Center joined Marshfield Clinic health system and changed its name to Marshfield Clinic Wisconsin Orthopedic Center.

9 Shannon Health System in San Angelo, Texas, opened its expanded orthopedic center as part of Shannon Clinic.

10. Taconic Orthopedics recently entered into a service agreement with Southwestern Vermont Medical Center to provide orthopedic services at the hospital.

11. Syracuse (N.Y.) Orthopedic Specialists recently decided to shift cases to St. Joseph's Hospital, which is expected to boost orthopedic patient volume at the hospital by 50 percent.

12. Susquehanna Health in Williamsport, Pa., completed a new $250 million tower that includes a new joint replacement and spine unit.

13. Texas Children's Hospital West Campus in Houston expanded its outpatient services to include a sports medicine program for children.

14. Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, Ohio, announced renovations to its orthopedics floor, which is expected to finish in July 2012.

15. The University of Connecticut Medical Center recently began new construction on an orthopedic and sports medicine facility.
