Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists Shifting Cases for High Volume Location

Practice Management

Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists surgeons are shifting cases away from Community General Hospital, where they perform fewer cases, to St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center, where they perform a higher volume, according to a report from The Post-Standard. The group is making the transition because performing cases at a high-volume location leads to better outcomes, according to group president Perry Cooke, MD. The group has also been working with St. Joseph's to develop a comprehensive orthopedics program, according to the report.

As a result of the move, St. Joseph's expects its orthopedic patient volume to increase by 50 percent.
