Orthopedic Sports Medicine

Anterior cruciate ligament tears and surgeries seem to be more common among men in the general population, according to a study published in the American Journal of Sports Medicine. Of the 56,659 individuals from the National Swedish Patient Register with ACL tears from 2002 to 2009, 60 percent were experienced by men. When categorized by age, male patients will have far more ACL tears than females.
