The North American Spine Society has released a revised edition of the evidence-based clinical guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis, according to a NASS news release.
The guideline was developed to assist medical professionals who treat patients with degenerative spinal stenosis. The new guideline includes a definition and explanation of the natural history of degenerative spinal stenosis, an outline for reasonable evaluation of patients suspected to have the condition and treatment options for adult patients.
The guidelines also address imaging, pharmacology, physical therapy and surgery, among other issues. The document is available for free download at the NASS website.
