The North American Spine Society recently awarded a total of $187,425 in traveling fellowships for spine surgeons and specialists to spend at least five months at a medical center other than their current practice, according to a NASS news release.
Hong Joo Moon, MD, PhD, of Seoul, South Korea, was the recipient of the 2011 Research Traveling Fellowship. Additional 2011 research grant winners are:

· Jeffrey Borckardt, PhD, of Charleston, S.C.
· Fackson Mwale, PhD, of Montreal, Canada
· Claudio Hertz, PhD, of Santiago, Chile
