  • Centinel Spine reached more than 5,000 cases with the Prodisc C Vivo and Prodisc C SK implants.
  • NovApproach Spine completed its first case using its OneLIF interbody spinal fusion system with a patient positioned laterally.

Neuralink news

  • Phoenix-based Barrow Neurological Institute was chosen as the inaugural site for the Neuralink PRIME Study.
  • Neuralink revealed details about its first human patient, a man who suffered a spinal cord injury after a diving accident.

New technology

  • DePuy Synthes is launching its TriALTIS pedicle screw system.
  • Captiva Spine launched its TransFasten-LSF sacroiliac joint fusion system for minimally invasive procedures.

Leadership moves

  • Orthofix named Andres Cedron as its chief legal officer. Mr. Cedron was previously vice president and corporate secretary at Stryker.
  • Spine devicemaker Accelus named two new people to its leadership team — Rob German as vice president of research and development and Luke Perkins as senior director of product management.
  • Lucas Vitale joined Orthofix as chief people and business operations officer.

ZimVie sells spine business

  • ZimVie closed on the sale of its spine business to global investment firm H.I.G. Capital. The spine business will now operate as Highridge Medical, based in Westminster, Colo.
