Here are 15 sports medicine physicians who have joined  new group or been promoted within their group.
Richard Canlas, MD, a family sports medicine physician, recently joined ThedaCare Physicians-New London (Wis.). He is a former U.S. Olympic Committee consultant and served as team physician for the Detroit Lions.

Cleveland Clinic Center for Sports Health named A.J. Cianflocco, MD, director of primary care sports medicine. He has been with Cleveland Clinic since 1987 and has been the team physician for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Texas Tech recently named Kevin Crawford, MD, medical director and head team physician for Texas Tech Athletics. He is a member of American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Advanced BioMedical Technologies named Thomas DeBarardino, MD, chief medical advisor for North America. He serves as head team physician for the U.S. military academy collegiate athletic teams and director of its sports medicine program.

Kevin Forsythe, MD, recently joined Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton, Calif. He has provided coverage for the California Cougars indoor professional soccer team and Stockton Lightning arena football league.

University Orthopaedics Associates orthopedic surgeon Charles J. Gatt, Jr., MD, was recently appointed program director of limb salvage and regeneration for the Rutgers-Cleveland Clinic Consortium of the Armed Forces Institute of Regenerative Medicine. He has a special interest in sports medicine and arthroscopy.

Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC recent announced its plan to launch a new sports medicine program led by Rajat Jain, MD. Dr. Jain is currently the lead physician for Children's Sports Medicine at UPMC.

The United States Olympic Committee selected Hamish Kerr, MD, to serve as a team physician for the U.S. rugby team. He completed his sports medicine fellowship at Children's Hospital in Boston.

Christopher Peer, MD, joined Portage Health Hospital in Michigan. He completed his fellowship in sports medicine at Kansas City Orthopaedic Institute/UMKC in Leawood, Kan.

U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team Foundation appointed Marc Philippon, MD, to its board of trustees. He is a partner at The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colo., and has a professional interest in hip joint preservation for athletes.

University of Alabama has appointed James Robinson, MD, as chair of sports medicine for family physicians. He has provided medical care to U.S. soccer and Olympic teams, as well as the New Orleans Saints.

MultiCare Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Tacoma, Wash., welcomed Hossein Pakzad, MD. His training included a fellowship at the University of British Columbia-Vancouver General Hospital and St. Paul Hospital in Canada.

Sports medicine specialist Kevin Thompson, MD, opened an office at Bryan W. Whitefield Memorial Hospital in Demopolis, Ala. He completed his sports medicine fellowship at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, N.C.

Milton (Mass.) Hospital recently welcomed Benjamin Thompson, MD. He completed his fellowship in sports medicine at Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Gulf Breeze, Fla.

Peter Yeh, MD, recently joined Winchester Hospital in Woburn, Mass. He completed his sports medicine fellowship at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Institute in Los Angeles and is a member of Arthroscopy Association of North America.
