James Andrews, MD, founder of Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Gulf Breeze, Fla., will perform surgery on the left shoulder of Marlins short stop Hanley Ramirez, according to an MLB report.
Mr. Ramirez has been out of play with left shoulder instability since early August, and his surgery isn't scheduled until Sept. 15. Pending a successful procedure, Mr. Ramirez is expected to return to play by the beginning of the 2012 season.
