Lewis Yocum, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Institute, will perform surgery on Orioles pitcher Jake Arrieta to remove bone spurs from his right elbow, according to a report from The Baltimore Sun.
After the procedure tomorrow morning, Mr. Arrieta is expected to spend two months recovering before returning to activity. He may be able to begin his normal throwing program as early as late November and be ready to return full force by next spring.
