Dr. Craig Della Valle Performs Partial Knee Replacement for Chicago Bulls Coach Tom Thibodeau

Orthopedic Sports Medicine

Craig Della Valle, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, recently performed a partial knee replacement on Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau, according to an MOR news release. Coach Thibodeau began experiencing knee pain several years ago when he played ball for Salem State. After a meniscal tear injury, the removal of cartilage created a bone-on-bone environment that prevented him from strenuous activity. Since Dr. Della Valle performed the surgery last month, Coach Thibodeaux has returned to his regular activity.
