Lewis Yocum, MD, an orthopedic surgeon with Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, is scheduled to perform ulnar collateral ligament repair on Mariners closing pitcher David Aardsma, according to an MLB report.
Earlier this year, Mr. Aardsma underwent rehabilitation for a forearm injury which he suffered in May while pitching in the Minor Leagues. The season-ending surgery is scheduled for later this week, and Mr. Aardsma is hopeful of returning to play next year.
