The American Medical Society for Sports Medicine recognized Craig Young, MD, with the 2012 Founders Award at its annual meeting this past week. The award is only given sporadically, when organization leadership decides a sports medicine physician has exhibited excellence in clinical care and education.
Dr. Young, a professor of orthopedic surgery at Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, is the team physician for the Milwaukee Brewers and past AMSSM president. He is also the co-director of the Annual Sports Symposium at the Medical College of Wisconsin and director of the college's primary care sports medicine fellowship.
