The University of Rochester (N.Y.) Medical Center’s sports medicine practice has been recognized by the New York Athletic Administrators Association as the 2011 Community Service Recipient, according to a URMC news report.
The award recognizes organizations that promote positive high school athletics. URMC Sports Medicine coordinates athletic training coverage for 19 local schools through 17 full- and part-time athletic trainers. URMC faculty and staff also give presentations to athletic leaders about keeping athletes safe and healthy.
