15 Surgeons Joining Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Practices

Here are 15 orthopedic surgeons who recently joined practice groups.

Philadelphia-based Rothman Institute recently welcomed Joseph Abboud, MD, a shoulder and elbow surgeon, and Michael Harrer, MD, a joint replacement physician. Dr. Abboud completed his fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Harrer completed his fellowship at Anderson Orthopaedic Clinic in Mount Vernon, Va.

Peoria, Ill.-based Great Plains Orthopaedics recently welcomed Michael E. Billhymer, MD. He completed his fellowship training in orthopedic traumatology at Florida Orthopaedic Institute and Tampa General Hospital.

Two orthopedic surgeons, Edward Choung, DO, and Anel Abreu, DO, recently joined North County Orthopaedic Group. Dr. Abreu completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry. Dr. Choung completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan.

William Harris, DO
, recently joined Mercy Specialists in Washington, Mo. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Warren General Hospital in Ohio.

Richard Harrison, MD
, a hand and upper extremity subspecialist, recently joined Viera Sports Medicine and Orthopedic-Greenspoon Orthopedics in Brevard County, Fla. He previously served as chief of hand and upper extremity surgery for the U.S. Army Medical Corps at Fort Bragg, N.C

Peter Indelicato, MD, a sports medicine physician, recently joined NeuroSpine Institute of Orlando. Dr. Indelicato is the current president of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and former team physician for the Miami Dolphins.

OrthoMemphis recently welcomed Matthew Massey, MD. He has a professional interest in foot, ankle and knee care and completed his residency at Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, S.C.

Sports medicine subspecialist Robert Morgan, MD, and upper extremity surgeon Scott O'Neal, MD, recently joined OrthoCarolina, where they both completed their fellowships. Dr. Morgan is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.

Orthopedic surgeon James Nace, MD, recently joined Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. He has a professional interest in knee, hip and shoulder care and serves as academic director of the institute's Center for Joint Preservation and Joint Replacement

MultiCare Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Tacoma, Wash., welcomed Hossein Pakzad, MD. His training included a fellowship at the University of British Columbia-Vancouver General Hospital and St. Paul Hospital in Canada.

Atlanta-based Resurgens Orthopaedics recently welcomed Jeffrey I. Peretz, MD. He has a professional interest in joint replacement and arthroscopy, and completed his fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston.

Foot and ankle surgeon Monica Zilkoski, MD, recently joined Hope Orthopedics in Salem, Ore. She completed her fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
