International Consortium of Orthopaedic Registries Reports on Progress

The International Consortium of Orthopaedic Registries recently outlined how it will develop a collaborative process for improving the safety of orthopedic devices with outcomes registries from around the world in the most recent edition of the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, according to an ICOR news release. ICOR was founded in Oct. 2010 to address the need for better post-market surveillance of orthopedic devices. The combined registries stand to include data on millions of orthopedic procedures and implantable devices on the market.

The recently published supplement summarizes the inaugural ICOR meeting, held in May 2011, and includes 14 papers reporting on various aspects of the meeting.
