Thomas Errico, MD, is the chief of the division of spine surgery with the New York University Langone Medical Center in the department of orthopedic surgery. He is also an associate professor of orthopedic and neurosurgery at the New York University School of Medicine. During his career, Dr. Errico has been president of the North American Spine Society and International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery. He has been on the board of directors for the World Spine Society. He has a professional interest in treating patients with scoliosis, kyphosis, stenosis, trauma, tumors and infections of the spinal column. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Errico participated in the Spine Patient Outcomes Research Trial and Pro Disc Lumbar Total Disc Replacement. He was a principle investigator for the Flexicore Lumbar Total Disc Replacement Trial and served as a consultant to Stryker for their Cervicore Cervical Disc Replacement Trial.
During his career, Dr. Errico has been recognized with Castle Connolly's Top Doctors award, Compassionate Doctor Recognition and Patients' Choice Award. He holds patents for innovative spinal instrumentation.
In his presidential address to ISASS in 2010, Dr. Errico said, "Many breakthrough technologies are in the pipeline these days, and at the same time the government is getting involved in healthcare like never before. We [in] the spine community need to proactively get research out there showing the benefits and value of our best available treatments."

Dr. Errico earned his medical degree from Jersey Medical School and completed his orthopedic residency at NYU Medical Center. His additional training includes a spine surgery fellowship at Toronto General Hospital in Canada.
