ASIPP Appoints Dr. Standiford Helm as New President

Pain Management

The American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians has announced the appointment of Standiford Helm II, MD, as president.

 

Dr. Helm succeeds Allan T. Parr, MD, in this position, according to an ASIPP news release.

 

Dr. Helm is the medical director of Pacific Coast Pain Management Center in Laguna Hills, Calif., and has been practicing interventional pain management since 1982. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Tufts University School of Medicine and was trained in anesthesia at the University of California, Los Angeles.

 

"These are exciting times, and the determination in the room will get us to where we want to be," said Dr. Helm, in the release. "As a past president of the California Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, I am thrilled to take on a new and challenging leadership role on a national scale within our thriving medical society. I truly look forward to the numerous advancements we will continue to make for the Interventional Pain Management community."
