Neal ElAttrache, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles and team physician for the Los Angeles Dodgers, recently performed arthroscopic shoulder surgery on Dodgers' closing pitcher Jonathan Broxton, according to an SB Nation report.
Mr. Broxton was placed on the disabled list in May 2011 with a bone spur in his right elbow. He didn't decide to undergo surgery until September. Dr. ElAttrache was able to remove the bone spur and loose bodies, which will most likely allow Mr. Broxton to begin pitching again for spring training.
Mr. Broxton is now a free agent and is not expected to return to the Dodgers.
