James Andrews, MD, senior orthopedic consultant for the Washington Redskins, recently performed knee surgery on running back Tim Hightower, according to a report from The Washington Post.
Mr. Hightower tore his ACL during a late October game against the Carolina Panthers and waited to have the surgery until earlier this week. He began his rehabilitation program the day after surgery. The usual recovery time for ACL repair is six to eight months, according to the report.
