The Methodist Center for Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine at Willowbrook in Houston has received accreditation for its Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship program, according to a health system news release.
The Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship allows one fellow to spend one year learning about the unique needs of the athletic population. The program received accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education through a peer review process and thorough evaluation of established standards and guidelines.
Scott Rand, MD, the fellowship program director, will oversee all aspects of training and education that the fellows receive.
