The Ephriam Gildor Foundation has bestowed a $1 million grant to the Steadman Philippon Research Institute in Vail, Colo., for new sports medicine and shoulder research, according to a news release.
Ephraim Gildor is a former patient of Peter J. Millett, MD, an orthopedic surgeon partner with The Steadman Clinic in Vail. Following a successful shoulder separation surgery, Mr. Gildor committed to support Dr. Millett's research at the Institute.
As a result of the grant, Dr. Millett and his colleagues will begin or continue studies involving shoulder joint preservation, joint reconstruction, nerve damage, osteoarthritis, rotator cuff repair and management of cartilage injuries in the shoulder.
