The Dallas Mavericks have extended the contract of team physician Tarek O. Souryal, MD, of Texas Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Group in Dallas, according to a Star Telegram report. Dr. Souryal, who is entering his 20th season with the Mavericks, has agreed to a five-year contract extension.
Dr. Souryal earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio and went on to complete an internship at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, a residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and a fellowship at The Hughston Orthopaedic Clinic in Columbus, Ga.
