Brian Cole, MD, head team physician for the Chicago Bulls, performed ACL repair surgery on Bull's guard Derrick Rose, according to a Chicago Tribune report. The surgery was performed at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, where Dr. Cole is section head of the Cartilage Restoration Center at Rush. Mr. Rose tore his ACL during a playoff game in April.

During the procedure, Dr. Cole used a patellar tendon graft and platelet-rich plasma to promote healing. Mr. Rose will spend time recovering from the procedure and is expected to return to play at some point next season.
