James Andrews, MD, founder of Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Gulf Breeze, Fla., and San Francisco Giants team orthopedist Ken Akizuki, MD, will perform ulnar collateral ligament repair on Giants relief pitcher Brian Wilson, according to a CSN Bay Area report. He previously had Tommy John surgery in 2003 but has since recorded the most saves in major league baseball. The surgery will be on the same arm as his last procedure, and Mr. Wilson will remain out of play for the remainder of the 2012 season. He hopes to return to play in 2013.
