Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, N.J., has named Raphael S. F. Longobardi, MD, chairman of the department of orthopedics, according to a hospital news release.
In his new position, Dr. Longobardi will focus on maintaining and improving orthopedic services at the hospital. He is in private practice with University Orthopaedic Center in Hackensack, N.J., where he concentrates on sports medicine.
Dr. Longobardi earned his medical degree at New York University School of Medicine and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at New York University Medical Center. His additional training includes a fellowship in sports medicine at Knoxville (Tenn.) Orthopaedic Clinic.
During his career, Dr. Longobardi has been team physician for the Florida Marlins, US Tennis Association and the New York Islanders professional hockey team.
