Craig Phelps, DO, an internal medicine physician and team physician for the Phoenix Suns, has been named the National Basketball Athletic Trainers Association Physician of the Year for 2010-2011, according to a team news release.
Dr. Phelps has served on the Suns' medical staff for 26 years arranging care for the athletes and treating non-orthopedic conditions. Dr. Phelps practices with Arrowhead Health Centers. He earned his DO at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine.
In addition to his work with the Suns, Dr. Phelps is a team physician for the Phoenix Mercury WNBA team and the Phoenix Ballet.
