Here are 10 spine and neurosurgeons who have joined new practices or been promoted to new positions within the past few months.


James Osborn, MD, and Garrick Carson, MD, recently joined SkyRidge Medical Center. Dr. Osborn completed his spine fellowship at Rush-Presbyterian Oak Park and Shriner's Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Carson completed his spine fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich.

Spine specialist Tan Duy Ly, DO, recently joined Southeastern Spine Center & Research Institute in Sarasota, Fla. He completed a spine fellowship at the Spine Institute of Arizona in Scottsdale and has a professional interest in performing minimally invasive procedures.

Bronson Healthcare Group's Bronson Orthopedics & Sports Medicine welcomed spine surgeon Joshua Ellwitz, MD. He completed his fellowship in adult and pediatric spinal deformity at the University of California-Davis.

Spine surgeon George D. Picetti, III, MD, joined Sutter Neurosciences Medical Group and Sutter Neurosciences Institute at Sutter Medical Center in Sacramento. He completed a spine fellowship at Texas Back Institute in Plano.

Neurosurgeon Sergio Rivero, MD, was named associate professor at the University of Arizona's department of surgery, division of neurosurgery. He completed his residency at the University of Arizona College of Medicine.

Spine surgeon Anthony A. Scaduto, MD, was named interim president and CEO of Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital. He has served as medical director at the hospital and chief of pediatric orthopedics at Santa Monica/UCLA Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital.

Geisinger Health's Neurosciences Institute recently named Jonathan Slotkin, MD, director of spine surgery and spinal cord research. He has fellowship training in complex spinal surgery at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston.

The Orthopaedic and Spine Institute in San Antonio recently welcomed spine surgeon Issada Thongtrangan, MD. He completed a spine fellowship at Texas Back Institute and neurological spine and peripheral nerve reconstruction fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto, Calif.

Spine surgeon James Weinstein, MD, was recently named CEO of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health in Lebanon, N.H. He previously served as president of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Clinic and director of The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice.
