The Collaborative Spine Research Foundation completed the process of setting a research agenda for spine care, according to News Wise. The agenda-setting process comprised of an online survey and a comprehensive briefing document. At the close of the survey, 143 stakeholders had submitted opinions.
The agenda articulates the most critical clinical research issues that need to be addressed to meet the Foundation's commitment to advance the science and practice of spine care.
The top three topics include assessing the effectiveness of:
• Evaluation and treatment for degenerative spine conditions
• Spinal surgery techniques, including outcomes, risks and morbidity
• Management strategies and treatment methods for acute spinal traumatic injury patients
