Charles Kuntz, MD, is a neurosurgeon with the Cincinnati-based Mayfield Clinic, and he is also affiliated with the University of Cincinnati Neuroscience Institute. Dr. Charles Kuntz of the Mayfield ClinicHe's the director of the division of spine and peripheral nerve surgery at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, a professor of neurosurgery and vice chairman of the education and clinical affairs committee.

Dr. Kuntz's areas of expertise include complex spine surgery, spinal tumors and trauma, degenerative disease, scoliosis and kyphosis, artificial disc replacement, peripheral nerve disorders, Chiari malformations and tethered cord syndrome.

He received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland. He completed a general surgery residency and a neurosurgery residency at the University of Washington in Seattle. He also had a neurosurgery fellowship at Atkinson Morley's Hospital in London; a combined orthopedic neurological spine surgery fellowship at the University of Washington; and a neurological surgery peripheral nerve fellowship at the University of Washington.

He's a member of professional organizations which include the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, American Medical Association, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, North American Spine Society and Scoliosis Research Society.
