Sean McCance, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon and the co-director of spine surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. He is also an attending spine surgeon at Lenox Hill Hospital. Dr. Sean McCance, co-director of spine surgery at Mount Sinai HospitalHe specializes in the surgical treatment of routine and complex disorders of the cervical and lumbar spine, including herniated discs, spinal stenosis, scoliosis, spinal fractures, tumors, infection and minimally invasive procedures.

Dr. McCance also has experience in revision spine surgery. He's active in clinical research and has authored many articles on spinal disorders.

He received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N.Y. He completed a spine surgery fellowship at the Minnesota Spine Center in Minneapolis.

Dr. McCance retains membership with the North American Spine Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Scoliosis Research Society, American Medical Association and Medical Society of the State of New York.
