Ken Yonemura, MD, is a board-certified neurosurgeon who practices at the Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Utah. He's also a part of the Wasatch Neurological Surgery Clinic in Bountiful. Dr. Yonemura is the chair of the North American Spine Society Professional Conduct and Ethics subcommittee. Dr. Yonemura has a special interest in spinal deformity, trauma, tumor and degenerative conditions of the spine. He also focuses on spine care, orthopedic surgery of the spine and peripheral nerve surgery. Prior to returning to private practice, he worked in the neurosurgery department at the University of Utah.
He holds a committee position with the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery. Dr. Yonemura is known for being one of the first surgeons involved with the FDA evaluation of threaded fusion cages and helped pioneer minimally invasive surgical techniques for the lumbar and cervical spine.
He received his medical training from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He completed his residency and internship at University of California Irvine Medical Center and a completed a fellowship at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix.
