Longwood Tightens Pain Clinic Restrictions

Pain Management

The local government in central Florida has been tightening regulations on pain management clinics, and Longwood is the latest city to join the efforts, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Restrictions include limiting operating hours and where new clinics can open to limit "pill mills" where prescription drug addicts can easily obtain narcotics.

Pain management clinics are also not allowed to open within 1,000 feet of a pharmacy, school or home; to accept cash only; to operate later than 7 p.m. or earlier than 7 a.m.; or to allow customers to line up outside.
