Pain Management

Researchers at Tampere University of Technology in Finland have developed the world's first biodegradable joint implant to treat osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, according to a News Medical report.

The new implant, RegJoint-, allows a patient's own bone tissue to remain intact during an operation, makes the reconstruction of the joint more sustainable, and provides a cushion that relieves pain caused by friction between bones.
