Chief executive shakeups: 8 moves in 100 days

Here are eight chief executive shake-ups in the orthopedic and spine industry since the beginning of 2024:  

1. Neurosurgeon Adam Kanter, MD, was named executive medical director of Hoag's Pickup Family Neurosciences Institute in Newport Beach, Calif.

2. Management services organization Aligned Orthopedic Partners, which serves practices in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C., appointed Jeff Andrews as its new CEO.

3. Regenerative therapeutics company Theradaptive appointed Frank Vizesi, PhD, as its chief scientific officer. Dr. Vizesi has over 20 years of experience in orthobiologics and spinal fusion, holding leadership roles at Orthofix, SeaSpine and NuVasive.

4. Minimally invasive spine surgery leader Spineology tapped industry veteran Emory Rooney as its executive vice president of sales. 

5. Lucas Vitale joined Orthofix as chief people and business operations officer.

6. Orthopedic and arthroscopic soft tissue repair innovator Abanza added John Rizzo as its executive vice president for U.S. operations. 

7. Spine surgery technology company Spineology appointed Amanda Bloom as executive vice president of marketing.

8. Devicemaker Orthofix named Julie Andrews as its new CFO.
