Hospital for Special Surgery Opens New Pediatric Rehabilitation Center

Practice Management

Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City has completed its new CA Technologies Rehabilitation Center for pediatric patients, according to a Hospital for Special Surgery news release. The new 7,000-square-foot Pediatric Rehabilitation Center is double the former facility and is the first stage of HSS' new Lerner Children's Pavilion. The upgrade was partially funded through a $5 million gift from CA Technologies.

Last year, there were nearly 18,000 visits to HSS' pediatric rehabilitation therapists, and the new facility will be able to accommodate 30,000 patient visits annually. The new facility includes a physical therapy gym, two occupational therapy gyms, expanded speech therapy suite, recreational toys and an equipment clinic focusing on wheelchair and mobility needs.
