Here are 28 orthopedic extremities specialists on the move during the latter part of 2011.
Columbia Memorial Hospital in Astoria, Ore., recently welcomed Douglas Abbott, MD. Dr. Abbott has a professional interest in shoulder and knee arthroscopy.

Rothman Institute in Philadelphia welcomed shoulder and elbow surgeon Joseph A. Abboud, MD. He earned a fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.

Foot and ankle surgeon Christopher Baker, MD, joined Winchester (Mass.) Hospital. He completed his fellowship in foot and ankle care at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston.

Hand surgeon Joseph Barmakina, MD, joined Summit Medical Group after 18 years in private practice. He completed a hand surgery fellowship at NYU Lagone Medical Center in New York City.

Hand surgeon Mykola J. Bartkiw, MD, joins Metro Health Hospital. He is also a clinical instructor at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Foot and ankle specialist Michael Campbell, MD, recently joined Atlantic Orthopaedic Specialists in Chesapeake, Va. He completed his fellowship at Penn State Milton Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center.

Foot and ankle specialist Bryan Ding, MD, recently joined Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola, N.Y. He was accompanied by three other orthopedic surgeons who joined at the same time.

Hand surgeon Anton J. Fakhouri, MD, joined the medical staff at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, Ill. He completed his hand surgery fellowship at the University of California-Los Angeles.

Great River Orthopedic Specialists in West Burlington, Iowa, recently welcomed Nathan Gause, MD. He earned his fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the University of Tennessee.

Hand specialist Jeffrey Haasbeek, MD, was recently hired to serve part time at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg, N.Y.

The Shoulder & Elbow Center at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, N.C., recently welcomed Nady Hamid, MD. He completed his fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at Washington University in St. Louis.

After leaving North Hawaii Community Hospital to run his own practice in Wyoming, Doug Hiller, MD, returned to NHCH earlier this year. He has a professional interest in sports medicine and foot and ankle care, having completed his fellowship in foot surgery at Campbell Foundation in Memphis.

Foot and ankle surgeon O.B. Idusuyi, MD, recently joined St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, Ill.

Shoulder and elbow specialist Michael T. Lu, MD, joined Human Motion Institute at Raritan Bay Medical Center in New Jersey.

Matthew Massey, MD, an orthopedic surgeon with a special interest in foot and ankle care, recently joined OrthoMemphis in Tennessee. He previously implemented a liaison program and joint venture with the Department of Defense to treat active-duty military personnel.

Shoulder and elbow specialist Robert Morgan, MD, recently joined OrthoCarolina. He completed his fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder and elbow surgery at OrthoCarolina.

Orthopedic Specialists of Southwest Florida recently welcomed Jason Nemitz, MD, to the practice. He completed his fellowship at the Michigan International Foot and Ankle Center.

Scott O'Neal, MD, also joined OrthoCarolina. Dr. O'Neal completed a fellowship in sports medicine and upper extremity reconstruction at OrthoCarolina.

Anastasios Papadonikolakis, MD, a shoulder and elbow surgeon, recently joined Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, N.C. He completed his fellowship at Washington University in Seattle.

David Pedowitz, MD, recently joined Rothman Institute in Philadelphia. He is a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society and completed his fellowship in foot and ankle reconstruction at the Oakland (Calif.) Bone and Joint Institute.

Atlanta-based Resurgens Orthopaedics welcomed Sourendra Raut, MD, earlier this year. He is a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society and completed his foot and ankle reconstruction fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.

Dayton (Ohio) Children's Orthopedic Center recently welcomed Craig Shank, MD. He has a professional interest in pediatric trauma, hip disease and foot and ankle deformity. He completed his fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at Seattle Children's Hospital.

Hand surgeons Emran Sheikh, MD, Renata Weber, MD, and Ednan Sheikh, MD, all joined Malo Clinic Health & Wellness in Rutherford, N.J.

Earlier this year, Michael K. Shindle, MD, joined Summit Medical Group in Berkeley Heights, N.J. He has a professional interest in sports-related injuries as well as foot and ankle care. He completed his foot and ankle fellowship in Oakland, Calif.

Shoulder and sports medicine specialist Kenneth G. Swan Jr., MD, recently joined Raritan Bay Medical Center's Human Motion Institute. He completed his fellowship in shoulder and sports medicine surgery at the University of Colorado.

Monica Zilkoski, MD, an orthopedic surgeon focused on foot and ankle care, joined Hope Orthopedics in Salem, Ore. She completed her fellowship at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
