The Hand and Wrist Institute in Los Angeles now provides endoscopic carpal tunnel release surgery, according to a practice news release.
The surgery takes about 10 minutes and is performed through an incision less than 1 centimeter long, according to the report. The surgeon inserts a video camera through the incision to localize the problem and perform the procedure. The patient often recovers in one week, according to the report.
