Arthrosurface, a Franklin, Mass.-based joint resurfacing device company, recently launched the first Talus resurfacing implant for the ankle, according to an Arthrosurface news release.
The system, HemiCAP Talus Resurfacing System, is designed to treat patients with ankle damage. The system allows surgeons to restore the damaged surface of the talar dome through reproducing the done, ridge and medial wall with one implant. Once implanted, the system re-approximates the native geometry of the talar dome to provide a load sharing surfaces that protects the remaining healthy cartilage.
