The National Joint Registry of England and Wales recently released its 2011 annual report, detaining the clinical success of select DePuy Orthopaedics hip and knee replacement products, according to a DePuy news release.
According to the report, 97 percent of the company's PINNACLE Acetabular Cup System and CORAIL Total hip System combinations were still intact after five years. The two devices are the most commonly used hip implants in England and Wales, according to the report.
The report also showed that the PFC SIGMA Knee System was the most implanted in England and Wales in 2010, with 98 percent of implants still in place after five years. The five year survivorship rate of the LCS Mobile Bearing Knee System was 97 percent.
