Stock prices for Stryker, Zimmer Holdings, Smith & Nephew and Medtronic have plummeted over the past week, and today's opening prices have continued the downward slide. The hardest hit company among the group was Zimmer, whose opening prices fell $5.61 between July 26 and Aug. 2.
Stryker
Stryker opening price on July 26 was $56.03, which was $3.27 more than opening price on Aug. 2 ($52.76). Today's opening price was slightly lower than yesterday's, at $51.61.
Zimmer
Zimmer opened at $62.19 on July 26, a value that fell $5.61 by the open of Aug. 2, to $57.58. Today's opening price was only a few cents less, at $57.32.
Smith & Nephew
On July 26, Smith & Nephew opening price was $53.86 and it fell to $50.22 by Aug. 2. Today's opening price fell again by more than a dollar to $49.16.
Medtronic
Medtronic was affected least of the four companies, falling only $1.86 between July 26 opening price ($36.45) and Aug. 2 ($34.59). However, the opening price dropped again today to $33.99.
