American Health Lawyers Association Announces EHR Liability Research Project

Health Information Technology

The American Health Lawyers Association is conducting a research project that will address the malpractice liability that can result from the implementation of electronic health records. The project will produce tools that healthcare providers can use to minimize EHR-related medical errors, including a checklist that will help identify errors and best practices to minimize the occurrence of errors, according to the report.

The Public Interest Committee of the AHLA has secured a $45,000 contribution from the American Society of Healthcare Risk Management in support of the research project.
