ECRI Institute Issues Risk Analysis to Guide Social Media Use

The ECRI Institute has released a new risk analysis, Social Media in Healthcare, to help physicians manage the risks social media may pose, according to an ECRI Institute news release. Despite risks involving patient privacy, the opportunities social media offers are tremendous. According to the release, practices need to lay out detailed guidelines to avoid social media-related problems. Defining the audience and the social media approach, identifying an executor of the social media content and establishing crisis procedures are key steps practices should take.
