Here are 20 orthopedic surgeons who recently performed surgery on professional athletes. Houston-based orthopedic surgeon Mark Adickes, MD, performed knee surgery on St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Lance Berkman, who injured his knee during a game.

Hospital for Special Surgery's David Altchek, MD, will perform knee surgery on New York Yankees relief pitcher Mariano Rivera, who tore his ACL.

New York Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks underwent foot surgery performed by Robert Anderson, MD, and will likely spend 12 weeks recovering from the procedure.

Dr. Yocum also performed elbow surgery on San Diego Padres pitcher Cory Luebke, who tore his UCL and will spend the rest of the season covering from the procedures.
