Dr. Steadman performed microfracture surgery to repair medial and lateral meniscus tears in Mr. Martinez's left knee, according to the report. He plans to perform a second surgery, ACL reconstructive surgery, in six to eight weeks.

Richard Steadman, MD, co-founder of The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colo., recently performed knee surgery on Detroit Tigers designated hitter Victor Martinez, according to a Detroit Free Press report.
