Spine Surgical Innovation Launches Series of Minimally Invasive Surgery Light Tubes

Spine

Spine Surgical Innovation, global marketer and distributor of the Swivel Port System and full line of spine instrument, has announced the launch of a series of minimally invasive surgery (MIS) light tubes.

The "Hummingbird" series is made to clip on to the company's Swivel Port MIS Retractor, according to Chris Zorn, vice president at Spine Surgical Innovation. It is designed to work with most light generation systems and power units, is reusable and can be adjusted to provide surgeons with optimal lighting without impeding the surgeon's movement or visibility, he says.

"We developed the Hummingbird specifically to address ease of positioning, which is flexible intraoperation by the surgeon as needed, and the excessive cost of disposable, one-time use lighting systems," Mr. Zorn says. "With reimbursement tightening up and
margins forever being stretched and pressured, we offer a solution that is simple, easy to use, requires no new capital investment and really drives the ROI."
