Adam Kanter, MD, is a neurosurgeon specializing in minimally invasive spine surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He is also an assistant professor in the department of neurological surgery at the University of Pittsburgh and director of the department's minimally invasive spine program. Dr. Kanter has a professional interest in treating spinal conditions through a minimally invasive approach, including scoliosis deformity correction. He uses a nerve decompression technique and lateral lumbar interbody fusion approach. Along with minimally invasive spine surgery, Dr. Kanter's specialized areas of interest include endosurgical complex spine surgery, artificial disc technology, spinal tumors and experimental therapies for spinal cord regeneration.
He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the North American Spine Society, the Society of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgeons and other professional surgical and medical associations.
