Cambridge, Mass.-based device company Semprus BioSciences has received a $1 million grant from the U.S. Army Telemedicine & Advanced Technology Research Center to develop new orthopedic devices, according to a Semprus BioSciences news release.
The company will develop the first orthopedic devices designed to reduce biofilm formation after implantation. The Semprus technology system creates a highly non-fouling performance that reduces the attachment of protein, cells, bacteria and other biological matter on medical device surfaces.
